Dr. Scott Covington
A general surgeon with over 30 years of wound care experience, Dr. Covington lectures throughout the U.S. and internationally on wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
He servers as an advisor on wound related issues to both industry and governmental leaders. As the Cheif Medical Officer and Director of Wound Care Education for Healogics, he trained and mentored thousands of physcicians and nurses in these clinical disciplines. Certified by the American Board of Surgery and fellow in the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Covington completed his undergraduate and medical education at the
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He trained at the University of Texas(Houston) in General Surgery. In addition, he completed the Thomas G. Cronin Fellowship in Plastic Surgery and Wound Healing Research at the University of Texas. Dr. Covington is a Certified Hyperbaric and Wound Specialist by the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine and a Wound Healing Society member.
Dr. Micheal Lusko
With 42 years of medical experience, Dr. Lusko is double boarded in Hyperbaric Medicine and in Emergency Medicine. He has lectured at conferences regularly on Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care, as well as to groups of physicians beginning their training programs in wound care. Prior to that he taught at hospital residency programs in Emergency Medicine at Trauma Centers in Denver and Jacksonville, Florida.
He has developed wound care/ hyperbaric medical center programs, has been the Medical Director of them, as well as of Emergency Departments, and for the Critical Care Team for the NFL. And at this time he still is the Medical Director of an Emergency Medical Services Program. The focus over the past 12 years has been to develop and manage wound care centers to provide optimum care for the wound care patient. The goal has been to prevent loss of limb or loss of life in these patients. With a successful treatment outcome, the patients can have a quality of life that they deserve.
